Carry On Harry Studios Singapore organized a Q and A Session with Brisbane based music artist Monet. The Occasion being his debut release No Body's Wrong
Please Introduce ... Who you are ? Where your are from ? What you do and Why ?
My name's Monet, I'm from Brisbane and I've just started my new career as a musican. Music has always been my best main interest.
What are your rehearsals generally like? Do you have a set time each week in which you practice or are rehearsals more spontaneous?
I usually rehearsal regularly with my best friend Ben, he'd play random/new chords for me and I'll come up with melodies and lyrics.
Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?
I used to play in the local theater when I was a kid, but I've never played live since then. I'm currently focusing on finishing all my songs so I can introduce them to my fans. I'm a bit visually picky about performance, so I will arrange my first live shows once everything's ready.
What's new in the recording of your music ?
I've always wanted to combine pop music and classic music elements together and I'm very happy it worked well in this song.
What's your outlook on the record industry today?
We never lack talented musicians in the industry, in fact, there are more amazingly gifted musicians than ever, however what we lack is opportunities. I think it's definitely getting harder for new musicians to make a living, if you're a model or social media celebrity you'd probably earn more money. However music is never all about money or fame, it's more about music itself, have faith, passion, keep making music as long as we can, good music will always be heard.
